Wenatchee is Home

Wenatchee has been home to people in my family since the 1930's, but I've only lived here 5 years.  Where I live I am surrounded by fruit trees and farm animals and family.  I can see the hills across the Columbia River, though I can't see the river itself.  I hear the sound of airplanes and sprinklers in the summer and not much but the neighbors' cars in the winter.  My first winter here I felt trapped in the Valley and numb from the cold.  Now I love our winters.  I'm not much for snow sports but I wouldn't mind if the snow hung around an extra week or two.  I love eating fresh picked fruit 3 or 4 months of the year.  And the hiking - it's paradise!
